I had some serious revelations the past couple of days. Some I knew, but tried to look past. Others, well… I guess they weren’t all too surprising but they left me pondering things a little deeper, nonetheless.
After enjoying breakfast and a fresh green juice (mint, spinach, apple, lemon, cucumber, parsley) with an amazing view of rice paddy fields, I walked back to my villa to work for the day since I knew I would be traveling for the weekend.
I got up at 2:30am and instead of trying to go back to sleep, I spent time working so I could sneak away to play a bit during the day.
I ventured out to find the market for some groceries (we have a community kitchen at my villa) and grab some breakfast, only to end up walking for miles without finding either. There were plenty of shops and mini-mart type stores, but I wanted the healthy food I’d been hearing so much about.
After a total of 40 hours traveling from San Diego, CA to Ubud, Bali, Indonesia… it dawned on me that I was literally across the world…
WHAT THE EFF WAS I THINKING?!
A women in touch with her sexuality feels confident, attractive, strong and self-sufficient. We are designed to be sexual creatures – divine divas who adore sexual pleasure, question sexual discontent and strive for balance, harmony and enjoyment. – Real Sex For Real Women, Laura Berman, PhD
Confession: my tagline should be “clothing optional” and I have ZERO shame about it.
But when packing for this trip – knowing I was going alone – I thought much differently about what I would be bringing with me.
So today is the first day of my 3-week adventure abroad.
So far I’ve been in a taxi, train and bus. And because I hate feeling rushed, I am WAY too early for my flight tonight.
Like really early.
Without solitude, Love will not stay long by your side. Because Love needs to rest, so that it can journey through the heavens and reveal itself in other forms. Without solitude, no plant or animal can survive, no soil can remain productive, no child can learn about life, no artist can create, no work can grow and be transformed. Solitude is not the absence of Love, but its complement. Solitude is not the absence of company, but the moment when our soul is free to speak to us and help us decide what to do with our life. Therefore, blessed are those who do not fear solitude, who are not afraid of their own company, who are not always desperately looking for something to do, something to amuse themselves with, something to judge. If you are never alone, you cannot know yourself.
– Paulo Coelho
I want to touch
the sharp taste
of the moment in between
the second just before
the place where
the breath catches
